Defensive Driving

 

Today's world is a busy one but we need to take the time and drive defensively. Please see below some quick simple tips to increase our defensive driving on a daily basis. PASS IT ON!

  • Plan your route before you leave the home.
  • Listen to the traffic report and check on lane closures or construction. Inspect your vehicle: do all the lights work?
  • Engine, transmission and brake oil levels where they should be? Tire pressure? Gas? Insurance etc.
  • How are you feeling? Make sure you are calm, have your route planned and are focused on the driving task.
  • OBSERVE your surroundings: look ahead when driving and be aware of all around you.
  • Pull over safely to talk on your cell phone.
  • Obey the rules of the road.
